Summer Solstice Gathering
Saturday, June 17, 11 AM - 3 PM
Let's gather together to celebrate the long days of summer when the gardens are bursting with color and the air smells of honey. This gathering isn't a class but a community potluck and bonfire. I imagine a day full of smiles and friendship, herbal crafting and dyeing, walks in the gardens & woods, written offerings to the summer bonfire, and nourishing of our bodies & minds.
Crafts:
- Calendula Oil with flowers from the garden
- Facial Grains to pamper our pretty faces
- Winter Yule Log made with summer wood and herbs to burn at the next Solstice, during the cold of winter
- Natural dyeing
What should you bring?
- A dish to share (please note if it contains meat or allergens for those who have special dietary needs).
- Closed-toe shoes if you want to walk in the woods.
- A folding chair or blanket if you prefer to sit on the earth.
- Something small to toss in the dye pot (if you want to dye). Plant or animal fiber is best.
Our land is in Leicester, NC ~10 miles NW of downtown Asheville.
The cost for the day is to cover craft supplies. If you are experiencing abundance with your finances, you can choose the higher cost and Pay It Forward. This will allow others with less income to attend events.
