Nature's colors in a sock blank! Naturally Dyed and Ecoprinted.
Each sock blank was created with plants and colors from my gardens and the woodland around my home. They are made by using plant materials and fabric rolled tightly into a bundle and steamed. Just like an 'I Spy' puzzle, there is something new that you will notice every time you look at them... the edging of a leaf, a petal, or bloom... Each one is a unique treasure.
Please indicate your choice of Sock Blank in the drop down menu at check out.
"A" is: 70% Targhee Wool and 30% Tencel from plants Heavy Fingering/Sport weight, 3-ply Single stranded sock blank 440 yds / 120+ grams
All other blanks are 100% Blue Faced Leicester Wool, Fingering weight, 2-ply Single stranded sock blank 370 yds / 100 grams

How do you use a sock blank? The same way you would use any fingering weight skein of yarn. You can wind the blank into a ball or knit straight from the blank unraveling it as you knit. Use them for socks, shawls, or any other pattern that calls for this weight of yarn. Watch the magical design develop as you knit.
Blank is knit to ~8 sts/inch, 65 sts. across and can be seamed along the long edge to create a sock tube if you don't want to unravel the print.
There is a "right" end and a "wrong" end to every blank. The "right" end is secured with a thread. Remove the securing thread and begin your unraveling.
Hand wash gently with a mild soap in cold water and lay flat to dry.
Monitor colors can vary. I've done my best to capture my blanks accurately.
Hand dyed in a smoke-free, pet friendly home.
